Barbara McRorie (Dellow)
April 19, 1943 – September 14, 2017
After a life well lived, Barb passed away peacefully at Providence Villa surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Mary and Lawrence Dellow, she is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Peter, her precious grandsons Quinntin and Ethan, daughter-in-law Bev and her mother Sylvia, her brother-in-law Jim McRorie, sister-in-law Joanne Dellow, as well as many nieces, nephews and aunts. Barb was predeceased by her cherished son Sean, brother Jim Dellow, parents Mary and Lawrence Dellow, parents-in-law Mary and Harold McRorie and sister-in-law Marj McRorie.
After retiring from OPG, Barb and Peter enjoyed many years of travelling and spending time at their summer home in Chesley with their family and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Barb’s life will be held at St. Dunstan of Canterbury (56 Lawson Rd., Scarborough) on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow. A graveside service will be held at the Chesley Cemetery on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 1 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Durham East Boys and Girls Club, Eastview (433 Eulalie Ave., Oshawa L1H 2C6) would be appreciated.
Peter and family would like to especially thank Providence Healthcare, Dr. Brody and the caring nurses and staff for making Barb’s last two days as comfortable and free from pain as possible. They would also like to thank the nurses from CCAC, especially Sondra, PSW’s from St. Elizabeth’s, especially Christine and Hazel and finally to all of Barb’s friends, neighbours, bridge partners and co-workers who kept in touch and supported us both. Thank you!
