Dean James Ryan of Kitchener, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the age of 34. Beloved son of Carol (Campbell) Ryan of Paisley. Loving brother of Kathleen Ryan. Dear partner of Richard Preszcator. Dean will be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his father Phil Ryan, his grandparents Garnie and Marjorie Campbell, and Marian Ryan.

Dean James was born on May 10, 1990. He was welcomed into the Ryan family when he was two and a half to parents Phil and Carol (Campbell), and big sister Kathleen. Dean grew up in Norfolk County. He attended Bloomsburg Public School and continued to Waterford District High School, and graduated from grade twelve. Dean played hockey, and was a very good chess player, playing in multiple tournaments. He was very smart, and was good at math, sudoku and puzzles. Dean enjoyed Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, video games, Anime, and attending the comic con conventions. Dean loved animals, especially his dog Hubie, cats, and his pet pigeons. He wrote rap songs, and liked listening to rap and heavy metal. Richard Preszcator, Dean’s special friend, was always there to support Dean. Dean was a kind and gentle person, he cared about people and would always help a friend in need in any ways that he could. One of Dean’s friends had written on his Facebook page “Sweet Dean, what a beautiful and unique soul.”

Cremation has taken place, and no funeral services will be held.

Memorial donations to the Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 295 (Paisley) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
