Esther Doris Brodie of Owen Sound passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the age of 78. Loving mother of Lois and her husband Tom Londry, and Len Brodie, all of Owen Sound. Cherished grandmother of Melissa (Riley), Matthew (Alyssa), Lucas, Connor, Kerri-Lynn, and Mackenzie and great grandmother of Peyton, Hunter, Rawlings, Case, River, and Weslee. Dear sister of John Crawford (Penny) of Chesley. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Herb, her many brothers and sisters, and her parents Russell and Esther (Mallard) Crawford.

When Esther was younger, she liked riding horses and the love for horses continued as she got older. Esther had a special place in her heart for her dog Finn. Esther loved spending time at her cottage in Wiarton with her family and listening to the crackling of cedar on the campfire. She had the magic touch in her vegetable and flower gardens, and she especially loved purple lilacs. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen canning pickles and making jam, listening to classic country, Elvis, and the Beach Boys. Esther loved challenging her family to a competitive game of Crokinole or Chinese Checkers. Her family always came first. She would do anything for every single one of them and cherished her relationship with each of them.

Memorial visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley, on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 6 – 8 p.m. Inurnment in Chesley Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army or the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter would be appreciated by the family.
