Aster “Esther” Rose Marie Bonitzke of Peterborough, formerly of Chesley, passed away with her loving daughter by her side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Monday, March 6, 2023, in her 91st year.

Loving mother of Wendy Sanche of Tillsonburg and stepmother of Gordon (Wendy) Bonitzke of Wawa, Boyd Bonitzke of Toronto, and Chad (Kelly) Harding of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Matthew (Claire), Jillian (Louis), Jeremy (Joanna), Samantha, and great-grandmother of Cole, Nick, Nate, Julia, Ethan, and Kiannu and many grandfurries and great grandfurries. Esther will be dearly missed by her sister Alice Todd of Peterborough as well as by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bodo, son Donald, brothers Anton, Axel, Alfred, and Albert, sisters Anna, Agnes, Astrid, and Aina, and her parents Albert and Amanda (Bergmann) Erickson.

A graveside service will be held at the columbarium in the Chesley Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations to Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation (PRHC Foundation) or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
