John James Laurans Kerr was born in Alliston, Ontario, on September 20th, 1941, and passed away on Friday August 30th, 2024, at Grey Bruce Hospice Chapman House in Owen Sound, in his 83rd year.

Beloved husband of Lynda Kelly Kerr, his loving wife of 40 years. Loving father of son Steven (Janet) of Oakville, daughter Barbara of Kitchener and son Graham (Amanda) of Mildmay. Cherished grandfather of Sarah (Coltin, Cass), Brendan, James, Kasper, Mackenzie, and Mikayla. Great-grandfather of Emilia, Kit, Charlotte, Olivia and Lilith.  He is survived by brother-in-law Randy Kelly, and his sister-in-law Inez (Crocker) Kelly. Predeceased by his dear parents Esther (nee Rawn) and Lauren Kerr of Alliston, Ontario, his brother-in-law John Kelly, and his cherished father-in-law Elwood J. Kelly.

The family wish to thank Dr. Horsfall, staff of Care Partners and Chapman house for all their care and support.

A come and go celebration of John’s life will be held at the Harriston Legion, 53 Elora St S, Harriston, upstairs ballroom, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1 – 4 p.m.  Parking and entrance is at the rear off of Queen Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Grey Bruce Hospice (Chapman House) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Our deepest sympathies with the loss of your husband, Lynda. He loved telling stories about farming back in his day. And he had a keen interest in how the crops were growing and what the markets were bringing. I fondly recall the day he rode around in the combine with me, as we combined corn on your farm.
