John Charles Paul Thomas passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2016 in Chesley, Ontario in his 66th year. Much loved partner of Ritchard Keith Taylor. Cherished brother of Janice Cecilia (Mrs. Rheo Amyotte) of North Bay, Mark Stephen Thomas of Hamilton, and Garry John (Agnes) Thomas of Hamilton. Predeceased by his mother Agnes Marie (nee Dika) (February 24th, 1969), father William Robert (July 11th, 1978), brother Brent Anthony Thomas (April 25th, 2009) and sister Karen Lynn Rushton (February 10th, 2015). Left to mourn his passing are his nephews, Shawn David Thomas, Allan Christopher Amyotte, Dale Kevin Amyotte, Garry Lee Andrew Thomas, Grant William Thomas, Michael Robert Rushton, Jay Thomas and Colin Thomas; and nieces, Barbara Ann Rushton, Janice Lynne Lundy, and Kimberly Ann Thomas. John will also be missed by Duane Stewart Stade (Theressa), Sherry-Lee Rhonda Stade, Lynda Doreen Taylor, Michael Sidney Taylor and Wilma Betty Stade and by his dear friends Ruth Timney and Karin Pasma of Burlington. John will also be missed by his many friends from St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Burlington.

John enjoyed Euchre, bowling, travel and stock car races. He loved to help senior citizens, and will be missed by the many residents of St. Luke’s Close in Burlington where for many years he volunteered to help them with their Income Tax filings and helped the residents with small minor repairs. He was also a Volunteer with the Burlington Humane Society’s Pet Therapy program and looked forward to his weekly visits to the Joseph Brant Hospital and various seniors residences in the Burlington area. John was also a member of the Burlington Senior’s Centre. John was employed at Wabco in Stoney Creek for many years.

A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be held at St. Luke’s Anglcian Church, Burlington on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2 p.m. Inurnment in St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery, Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Luke’s Anglican Church (1382 Ontario St., Burlington L7S 1G1) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
