Kevin Warren

Rhody Family Funeral Home

Kevin Lyall was born on February 15, 1978 in Etobicoke, to Lyall Samuel and Sandra Faye (Bell) Warren. The three Warrens lived in Etobicoke until 1980 when they moved to Brampton. Four years after Kevin’s birth, the family was joined by Kim Joanne (1982). Throughout his youth, he loved playing baseball, spending hours playing with kids in their neighbourhood. Kevin later attended Goldcrest Public School and then North Peel High School in Brampton. In 1996, the Warren family moved north to Hanover, where they settled on a rural property on the outskirts of town.

Kevin worked a variety of jobs following school, with time spent cleaning cars and working for Arnold Kell, Leesons and Fidlers, just to name a few. Kevin tended to get restless when in one place too long, and often switched jobs regularly trying to find the right fit. When not working for pay he loved working on old cars, with his Blue Mustang being the most memorable. He and his friends spent countless hours working on that car. Around this time period Kevin bought his first truck, and like all of us, took it home to show his parents. Only Kevin took it a step farther as after he proceeded to go mudding with it on the back of his parent’s property. As only Kevin could do, he buried it and required a 90 horsepower tractor to pull him out of the mess. You might say Kevin was a little hard on his toys!

Kevin then spent some time in London before moving back to the area. Upon his return, he was introduced to Laura Levesque. The two soon began dating and were married on August 8, 2015 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore in Owen Sound. Laura brought with her four children; Zackary, Tyler, Jacob, and Harlow and they were an instant family. A month later they welcomed their daughter, Alexis on September 12, 2015. Months later, they called Chesley home.

Kevin always had a desire to work for himself and in recent years operated his own lawn care and drywall business. When he had free time, he loved to be outdoors and particularly enjoyed the summer months. He enjoyed camping, the beach and anything to do with water, particularly, boating and swimming. Kevin also enjoyed going for walks along the harbour front, with the area around the Bayshore in Owen Sound being his favourite. In the fall months, he enjoyed going deer hunting with friends outside of Neustadt.

When it came to TV he loved to watch anything on the History or Discovery Channels. His music of choice? Well, Rap of course, with Wu-Tang Clan and a variety of other artists (many of whom we can’t understand) being his favourite. Kevin was meant to live in Bruce County as he loved his steak and roast beef. In fact, Kevin was a great cook as well and prepared many great dishes. His specialty, however, was scalloped potatoes. He was an animal lover and had several pets throughout his life. There were dogs, cats, and even a lizard but “Cooper” his Pug was his favourite.

Kevin loved his family dearly and always appreciated the love and support they offered him. His daughter, Alexis, however, was his world! His pride and joy. He loved to spend time with her and would do everything in his power to make her the happiest little girl. Now, he will forever be her angel, guiding and looking out for her as she grows.

Kevin was a fun-loving, young at heart man, with a good sense of humour. A big kid in other words… and he was always up for an adventure! His loyal, loving, caring and passionate personality will be missed by all who knew him.

Sadly, Kevin passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the age of 41.

Cherished father of Alexis. Kevin will be missed by Alexis’ mother, Laura Warren, and her children Zackary, Tyler, Jacob, and Harlow. Loving son of Lyall and Sandra Warren of R.R. #1 Hanover. Cherished brother of Kim Warren of Chesley and uncle of Austin, Aleah, and Ava. He will dearly missed by his family friend Dale Wright.

A casual, come and go celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 1 – 4 p.m. All are welcome!

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a trust fund that will be established for Alexis’ education (please make cheques payable to Laura Warren) would be appreciated.
