Lori Heard

Rhody Family Funeral Home

It’s with deep regret we announce the passing of our partner, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece Lori Lynn Heard (Jackson) on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Guelph General Hospital. She was in her 26th year.

Lori was born on May 18, 1994 in Owen Sound. She came into the world as a little firecracker and she remained being that spark throughout her short life. She talked at a very young age so having conversations with her were certainly interesting. She loved helping mommy in the kitchen baking and enjoyed eating the fruits of her labour. Lori enjoyed attending nursery school in Owen Sound but the drives to and from with her daddy is what she enjoyed the most. When Lori was 4, her younger sister Cortney was born, then the sparks really flew. Frankly, Lori was kind of upset not only having to share the same birth month together, but having their special days only three days apart, which meant birthday parties the same day. She cursed this often but when the presents were had and there was cake to be eaten she loved every bit of it.

Despite arguments and constant bickering with her sister, in time they grew together to become best friends and did many things together making wonderful memories along the way. Lori always ensured her younger sister made it to and from school safely because she had a big caring heart and protected her. Lori attended Elderslie Central School from kindergarten to Grade 8 where she made many friends that remained with her throughout her life. When she was 7 years old the first of 4 brothers arrived, in succession Austin, Tyson, Adain and Gavin. They all came into this world knowing the love they would receive having a big sister like Lori. She loved having fun with them. She ventured outside her comfort zone being a girl, and joined the boys and her younger sister in getting dirty and having lots of fun together. When Lori was around 14, she ‘borrowed” her dad’s pickup truck to “go find the dog”. She drove all over the property with her siblings in the back, spinning the tires on the wet grass causing ruts. She tried to cover them up with pine needles but eventually was found out. She cut her sister’s hair which required emergency fixing, she accidentally locked herself in a fridge at her Ma and Pa’s farm which caused a lot of panic with her mom and Ma, and was brought home by the police after being caught throwing stones at a vacant house up the street. All of which became the funny stories we could share about Lori.  She attended Chesley District High School until Grade 10 then followed her heart to Clifford to be with her beau Brandon and his loving family. She attended Norwell District Secondary School and worked part time at Tim Hortons in Harriston. At the age of 18 Lori became a mom to Bentley. She was the sweetest, most loving mom. She then married Brandon and two years later they were blessed with Karleigh. Lori sometimes struggled with having her hands full with both rambunctious children, but having family in close range allowed Lori to have her breaths of fresh air. Eventually, Lori’s heart became that of Joe’s. He brought 2 beautiful girls, Charlotte and Lilly into Lori’s heart as well. With the amount of love they shared, along came Tanner to cherish together. She made her life in Guelph with her large family, a staple of who she was. She enjoyed living in the city, having many amenities close to her and growing more branches on her family tree by the love and support she received often by Joe’s family. She was a bright spirit and full of life. She would do anything to support her children and refused to lead them astray. She always did the best she could. Lori silently suffered, but her beautiful smile hid her suffering which sadly led to her tragic end. She will be remembered and loved by so many, her spark will remain forever.

Beloved partner of Joe Jackson of Guelph, loving mother of Bentley and Karleigh Dally, Charlotte, Lilly, and Tanner Jackson. Also survived by her mother Jennifer Whitfield (Joe Harvie), and her father Steve (Becca) Heard. Sister of Cortney, Austin, Tyson, Aiden, Gavin, Parker and Libby Heard and Dylan Harvie. Special niece to Angie Allan (Rob), Amanda Modaragamage (Dil), Jessica Rasmussen (Nick), Katelyn Nelson, and Cathy Beitz (Ken). Cherished granddaughter of Paul and Elaine Nelson, Chris and Bonnie Heard. Great-Granddaughter of Beverley Menary and Johnny Whitfield. She will be sadly missed by the Jackson and extended family, the Dally family, many cousins, aunts and uncles. Predeceased by her Papa Bruce Whitfield and Grandma Carol Heard.

Her family will receive friends at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St., Guelph) on Thursday, November 14 2019 from 6 – 9 p.m. as well as on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 9 – 11 a.m. A celebration to commemorate Lori’s life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m.

A further time to remember and celebrate Lori’s life will be held at the Klages Mill, Chesley (11 1st Ave. N.) on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. All are welcome.
