Lyall Warren

Rhody Family Funeral Home

Lyall Samuel Warren of R.R. #1 Hanover, passed away suddenly at his residence, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in his 83rd year.

Loving father of Kim Warren of Chesley, and cherished grandfather of Austin, Aleah, Ava, and Alexis. He will be fondly remembered by close family friends, Dale Wright and Will Leifso. Lyall was predeceased by his wife Sandra, son Kevin, brother Gary, and his parents Reg and Evelyn (Hastie) Warren.

Lyall was born in Toronto, where he later met his future wife, Sandra Fay Bell. Together, they welcome children Kevin and Kimberly. Lyall spent much of his career driving truck for Kruger Transport, before retiring and returning to the Hanover area in 1996. In his free time, Lyall loved to swim. It didn’t matter if he was in the Hanover pool or the Saugeen River in Scone, if he was in the water, he was at peace. He enjoyed a variety of automobiles throughout his life; however, he was particularly drawn to antique cars. Lyall also had a deep appreciation for everything trains, particularly steam engines – always getting a new calendar every year. He was an avid sports enthusiast, with his television usually tuned into a baseball or hockey game, if not, then the news! Lyall loved his old country tunes, which often kept him company. The likes of Merle Haggard, Johnnie Cash, and Charley Pride, were just some of his favourites. He loved animals, with family K-9’s Candy and Targa, having a special place in Lyall’s heart. He enjoyed spending free time with family, and close friends, and never missed an opportunity to join Val for a ride on her side-by-side. Lyall will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2 – 4 p.m. Private interment in Hanover Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

The Warren family would like to extend a big thank you to Dave and Valerie Haack, Lyall’s neighbours, for their friendship, love, and support in recent years. It was really appreciated!
