Mervyn Charles Henry Schuknecht of Elmwood, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 2, 2011 in his 82nd year.

Dear father of Yvonne and her husband Jim Witzke of Chesley, Judy Ahrens of Elmwood, Ron of R.R. #3 Hanover and Cheryle Schuknecht of Hanover. Loving grandfather of six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sadly missed brother of Maurice and his wife Birdie of Hanover, Kathleen Hamel of Elmwood, Floyd and his wife Reta of Kitchener, Doug and his wife Marian of Hanover, Arthur of Chesley Lake, Phyllis and her husband Ron Spitzig of Cargill, Sharon Rands of Hanover and Gwen and her husband Reg Rands of Chesley Lake. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mervyn was predeceased by his wife Marguerite, sister Gwendolyn, brother Kenneth, brother-in-law Wayne Cann and his parents, Henry and Hannah (Woods) Schuknecht.

Visitation was held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. Interment in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Elmwood.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
