Adeline Wilhelmina Bender (nee Pries) passed away peacefully in the loving presence of her family at the Village Senior’s Community, Hanover on Friday, July 9, 2010. She was in her 97th year. She is remembered fondly by her six children, Marlene (Neil) MacDonald of Walkerton, Carol (Doug) Grant of London, Larry (Betty) of Southampton, Berkley (Antia) of Komoka, Eddy (Linda) of Calgary and Shirley of Boston. She is also in the hearts of her ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one brother Art Pries, of Hanover. Adeline is predeceased by her dear husband Theodore; beloved daughter Gloria; dear granddaughter Mary Kate; son-in-law Doug; daughter-in-law Irma; two sisters, four brothers and her parents, Henry and Doretta. She never lost her love of driving by her childhood home in Lauderbach and recalling life on the farm with her family.
Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Thursday from 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Adeline’s life will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Chesley on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment in Chesley Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Mark’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
