Dorothy “Dianne” Bailey of Victoria, B.C., passed away following a brief illness, on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in her 71st year.
Loving sister of Doug (Lynn) of R.R. #3 Chesley. Cherished aunt of Brendan (Brandy) Bailey, Sarah Bailey (Jarred Colling), Laura (Simon) Collins, and great-aunt of Harlow, Nash, Kip, and Holden. Dianne will be dearly missed by her partner, Greg Hanowski, and best friend Cathy Lund. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph (1992) and Helen (Schultz) Bailey (2021).
A graveside service honouring Dianne’s life will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Bentinck Township on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome!
Memorial donations to the Chesley Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
Dianne, my friend has come home to her final resting place. A beautiful soul now with the angels.
She will be missed by her brother, Doug and his family. Di was totally dedicated to her family. I heard many stories over the years of weddings, births and deaths from her.
When she came home every year you had to book a date to see her. She had so many friends!
She made friends wherever she went.
I understand Greg and his family in Victoria accepted her as part of their family. Thank you Greg for your caring and dedication to Dianne.
I still watch the Victoria weather network on TV. When we would have big snowstorm and she had lovely weather, I would get a call from her! She would RUB-IT-IN about her lovely spring flowers and cute hummingbirds.
AND STILL I THOUGHT SHE WAS LOVELY! Well I guess she didn’t forget me.
I will miss
May You Rest In Peace My Friend
Sherryl

So sorry for the loss of a neighbour. Our sympathies to Doug, Lynn and family.
My sympathies to Doug, Lynn & the entire Bailey family . Dianne was a special soul indeed. I first came to know her as our babysitter in the late 1960’s and then as a friend throughout the years. She was kind-hearted, thoughtful, and above all, compassionate. For decades, she never failed to send her newsy letters to mom and I for our birthdays and Christmas. On her earlier visits home, she made sure to make time for lunch with our moms and Alda. The bond she shared with her mother ran deep. Perhaps because they were cut from the same cloth. Following her successful nursing career, she became an unofficial caregiver for many of her neighbours in Victoria, always helping them with errands or visits. She was just that kind of friend for so many. It broke my heart to know she was taken far too quickly from us. To Greg and your parents, I am truly sorry for your loss. You had a life-long, unique bond with Dianne that will not be broken. When I see a card with a bird or hear their songs in our backyard, I will always think of her.
Our sincere condolences. It was always a pleasure speaking with Dianne. She never missed sending us a card on our Anniversary and at Christmas. We miss her friendly personality.
Sending our condolences to Doug, Lynn, Greg and the whole family at this sad time. We remember Dianne with love and will miss her visits, phone calls and of course the birthday cards that her and her mother Helen were so kind to send. Such a beautiful lady inside and out.
