Dr. George Henry Burgess of Chesley, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 29, 2010 in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Irvine. Cherished father of Jean Burgess (Peter deMarsh) of Taymouth, N.B., Ken Burgess (Linda Frank) of Hamilton, Bill Burgess (Simin Tabrizi) of Vancouver, B.C., Lillian Burgess (Jon Radojkovic) of R.R. #4 Chesley and Neil Burgess (Lynn Aylward) of Wolfville, N.S. Loving grandfather of Luke deMarsh, Allison and Caitlin Burgess, Jonathon Tabrizi, Skyler, Ian and Misha Radojkovic and Anna Joy Aylward Burgess. George will be sadly missed by his sister Helen Hall of Pickering and brother William (Jean) Burgess of Edmonton. Predeceased by his brother Gordon.
Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. John’s United Church on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. Interment in Chesley Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Angola Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the Chesley Rotary Club for medical work in Angola would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
