Heather Albright

Rhody Family Funeral Home
Heather Lynn Albright of Owen Sound, passed away after a courageous battle with Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (VEDS) at Grey-Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in her 36th year. Throughout her diagnosis and struggle, Heather showed incredible strength and perseverance and managed to keep a positive outlook and an upbeat attitude. EDS is a group of inherited connective tissue disorders where faulty collagens does not provide enough strength to properly support body structures. There is no cure for EDS and Vascular EDS is one of the worst possible types. Due to the lack of understanding of this rare disease, many people with EDS go years without discovering what is actually causing their medical problems and chronic pain. With awareness growing, however, it is now believed that EDS may be much more prevalent than previously thought. EDS Canada is working very hard to raise awareness. To say Heather was a proud mother of Jared Kimball is an understatement. He was the light of her life! Heather leaves to grieve her boyfriend Brandon Sheppard and will be sadly missed by her mother Lillian Middleton and Popa Ken (Pufahl). Mourning her loss are her Super Sister Susie Albright and brother Raymond (Darlene). Heather is survived by her favourite nephew Brett Albright and nieces Halle Packer and D’Arsiah Albright. Missing her are Tina Pufahl (Will) as well as Nayal and Ben, her Godfather Harvey Albright, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and of course, her furry friend Crystal. Being the beautiful, yet quirky person she was, Heather leaves to grieve too many friends to be mentioned. Even if people met Heather only once, they were drawn to her sweetness, sense of humour, and how she was her own person. Condolences are pouring in from as far away as the United Kingdom and Netherlands. Heather was predeceased by her father “Uncle Ed.” Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Sunday from 6 – 9 p.m. where a funeral service celebrating Heather’s life will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 1 p.m. with Terri-Ann Mattiasson as celebrant. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to a trust fund set up in Jared’s name (cheques payable to “In Trust for Jared Kimball”) or to EDS Canada would be appreciated.
