While helping me deliver the mail, John taught me much- flowers, growing things, how beautiful our surroundings are, birds and classical music. And of course i also learned much about his family and Andrea, who I have come to respect greatly.
Condolences to all,

Jo-Ann, Tim and family. So sorry to hear of your Dads passing. May he Rest In Peace playing his piano for all to hear on a huge fluffy cloud. We had many conversations during the years he was in Cargill, mostly discussing the many birds in the area.A great man.

Dear John , Lieve Jan

In the fifties you reached the shores of your new Homeland Working, founding a family and far away from the people you left in Holland. Communications were scarce. Only with letters Mama and Liesbeth kept contact. Our mother visited you once by ship. She came in 1971 with Ben. You and your brothers and sisters were busy, Working and raising children. Playing your grand piano. Because of all these activities there were not many visits in both directions. Ties were loose.
Then Aad, Wim en Ben went to Canada and the ties became stronger. It inspired some of your children to visit us in Europe. Communication was easier and flying became an easy way to visit you. You and your children made us feel welcome and we knew more about each other. We looked and saw that you were forced by health problems to live a different life. We saw your relationship with Andrea and saw the happiness it brought to you both. We look back to a strong life.
Sadness is now in our hearts. But respect the choice you made. Now you go to your Creator and we hope you find there the peace that you want.
