June Ann (Schuler) Funck of Desboro, passed away peacefully at the Chapman House in Owen Sound on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Born in Kincardine, Ontario on June 3, 1947. June was in her 77th year.
Beloved wife of Jerry of Desboro. Loving mother of Kevin (Jane), Randy (Paula), both of Desboro and Laura of Owen Sound. Cherished grandmother of Eric, Leah, and Carson. Survived by brother Gerald (Elsie) Schuler of Teeswater. June will be missed by friends and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Wilfrid and Alice Schuler and grandson Aaron Stadtlander.
June loved playing piano and had a passion for music. She enjoyed teaching piano lessons to her students. She also taught music and physical education classes at James A. Magee and Dawnview public schools in Hanover. June was involved in many church activities at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Desboro, as well as being an active member of the Desboro Agricultural Society where she enjoyed helping with school fairs. She loved sending out a variety of cards, which usually included Christmas, anniversary, and birthday cards. June loved her family and enjoyed living on the farm. She was known for her dessert squares at family gatherings.
Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 6 – 9 p.m. A funeral service honouring June’s life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Desboro on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 2 p.m. Interment in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Desboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Grey Bruce Hospice Inc. (Chapman House) or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
