Lydian W. Martin of R.R. #2 Chesley, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 4, 2019 in her 95th year.

Mother of Selinda Shantz of Chesley, Ibra Martin, Amos (Malinda) Martin of R.R. #5 Mount Forest, Abner (Verna) Martin, David (Laurene) Martin of R.R. #1 Wallenstein, mother-in-law of Anna (Allen) Gingrich of R.R. #2 Drayton and mother of Nelson (Laura) Martin of R.R. #1 Elmira. Survived by 57 grandchildren, 129 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Melinda Weber. Predeceased by her husband Wesley (Sept. 2009), parents Amos and Susannah (Weber) Weber, son Edward (July 2007), son-in-law Amos Shantz (May 2015), daughter-in-law Salema Martin (Feb. 2015), one granddaughter, four grandchildren in infancy, one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter in infancy, one brother, one sister and one brother-in-law.

Friends may call at the home of Clare Shantz (#675 Concession 6, R.R. #2 Chesley) on Tuesday, March 5th from 2 – 5 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 6th at the home of Nelson Martin (#1657 Cedar Spring Rd., R.R. #1 Elmira) from 1 – 4 and 5 – 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Nelson Martin’s on Thursday, March 7th at 9 a.m. and then to Creekbank Meeting House for burial and further services.
