I was very hurt to hear about this as I had not heard from Margie for quite some time. Margie is what my mother affectionately called her and I believe that she was held very near and dear to my mother Penny Laporte. After my mother had met Margaret they became fast friends but after my mother was put in long term care due to MS I would speak to her occasionally and update her on her well being. I will miss our conversations and wish you the deepest condolences for the loss of such a beautiful soul.

Marg was a trusted and special friend from the day I met her, on my first day of work at Scotiabank in 1967.
We have supported each other through life’s highs and lows. Marg was a shoulder to cry on, someone to truly laugh and reminisce with, and always sincere in her words of advice or encouragement.
I take solace in knowing that Marg is now reunited with Jimmie, her husband, friend and soulmate.
Rest in peace dear friend, I will miss you, but the memories will live on.
My sincere sympathies to her family, you have lost someone special.

Margie was a true friend for well over 50 years. She had the best sense of humour and it was with her until the very end. Whenever we’d talk, it was like we had talked just the day before and you always knew what she thought. Marg was always the same, kind, thoughtful, funny and upbeat. We will miss her dearly. Sincere sympathy to her family. Rest in peace my friend.
