Mary Ethel Gowland of Chesley, formerly of Arthur, passed away at Parkview Manor, Chesley on Monday, May 30, 2011 in her 101st year.

Loving mother of Freda and her husband Don Ahrens of R.R. #1 Chesley. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Bob (Carrie) Ahrens of Mississauga, Nancy Ahrens of Burlington and Donna (Brett) Bowman of Guelph. Cherished great-grandmother of Adam, Samantha, Alex, Jacob and Nicholas. Mary will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Betty Fletcher of Guelph. Predeceased by her husband Thomas, son Edwin, sisters Lorna Lynn, Florence Elliott, brothers Edwin, Harold and Gilbert Povey and her parents, William and Ethel (Gill) Povey.

Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur.
