Mary Ruth Hughes passed away at Country Lane Nursing Home, Chatsworth on Sunday, May 29, 2011 in her 88th year.

Born in Elderslie Township on August 16, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Christina Hughes. Mary was predeceased by her brothers Harry and John Hughes and her sisters, Sharon (Clifford) Spindloe, Mildred Hughes, Margaret (William) McNabb and Florence Hughes. She is survived by her niece Marilyn (Fred) McCoy and her great-niece Catherine (Doug) Dixon.

A funeral service celebrating Mary’s life was held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment in Chesley Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
