Norman Harris Powell of Hanover, formerly of Dobbinton, passed away at McVeen Lodge, Hanover on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in his 85th year.

Loving husband of Vera. Cherished father of John of Calgary, Douglas and his wife Roberta of R.R. #2 Dobbinton, Linda and her husband Mark Schwartz of R.R. #1 Desboro and Murray and his wife Victoria of R.R. #1 Dobbinton. Norman will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Sidney of Scarborough and sister Lila “Marie” Walker of Pickering. Predeceased by his brothers Gordon and Robert and his parents, Harris and Annie (Hooey) Powell.

Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley (formerly Cameron Funeral Home) on Thursday from 7 – 9 p.m. where a memorial service will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 1 p.m. Interment in Chesley Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Hanover Care Centre Resident Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
