Sarah Irvine

Rhody Family Funeral Home

On December 5th, 2019 Sarah Jane Irvine, (46) tragically passed away in a car accident outside of Chesley, not far from her home in Hanover.

Sarah (RahRah) was born on October 23, 1973 in Burlington, and graduated from Ancaster High School. She then enrolled in the educational assistant program at Sheridan College. Sarah had a passion for helping and supporting those that needed it the most and that passion never wavered.

Sarah is survived by Brian Irvine and their children Benjamin, Brianna, and Victoria; her parents, Mary Ellen & Gary Thorne and Dale & Carol Egan; brother Joseph Egan (Kristin), sisters Julia Ernewein (Steven) and Tammy Wilhelm (Jeff). Sarah was predeceased by her loving grandparents, Joseph “Tom” and Winifred Symington, Douglas and Dorothy Egan, Harry and Winnifred Thorne, Uncle John and Aunt Rose Symington, Uncle John Lobban and Uncle Don Thorne.

Sarah was many things to many people: A loving aunt to Cameron, Ethan, Sophia and Peyton, a niece, cousin, and friend and confidant. She will be sorely missed by her dear friends Lori Bowes and Vanessa Morrison as well as all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins, not to mention a vast amount of friends and acquaintances she met while fighting for more funding and support for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome families and other illnesses.

Sarah was a shining light in this world. Everyone she met she left an impact on and her memory will forever live on in their hearts. Sarah, though your time here with us has come to an end, the light you have provided all of us will only get brighter and stronger as we carry you with us and pass it on to others as you so selflessly did. That is what you always did best and your legacy will continue.

Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Sarah’s life at Victory Fellowship Baptist Church (#033219 Grey Rd. 28, Hanover) on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a trust fund which will be established for the education of Sarah’s children (please make cheques payable to Gary Thorne) would be appreciated.
