William Henry Lustig passed away peacefully in Hanover on August 29, 2010 at the age of 92.
Harry was born May 30, 1918 in Chesley, Ontario. He attended Chesley High School and served with the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. He was stationed in Europe during the Liberation of the continent. Upon returning to Canada, Harry was occupied with the construction of cottages in Bruce County and Muskoka. A street near the beach in Port Elgin has been named “Lustig Lane”.
Harry was an esteemed member of the Chesley Lawn Bowling Club and the Chesley Curling Club, and participated in many Bruce County competitions.
He is survived by one brother, George, two sisters, Gwen Todd and Joan Stanford; he was predeceased by his parents William and Martha Lustig, and by his sister Marie Sanderson. He leaves behind many loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
A funeral service celebrating Harry’s life will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 1 p.m. Interment in Chesley Cemetery.
